U2 is originally from Dublin, Ireland. The band formed in 1976 and consists of:
- Bono – vocals, guitar
- The Edge – guitar, keyboards, and vocals
- Adam Clayton – bass guitar
- Larry Mullen, Jr. – drums and percussion.
However, their first album, Boy, was not released until 1980.
U2 is known for its on-stage concert tours including stadium tours: Zoo TV Tour, U2 360 Degree Tour, and Popmart Tour.
The U2 360 Degree Tour was the highest-attended and highest-grossing concert tour in history. U2 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
In addition, they have won 22 Grammy Awards. They are mega superstars to the point that Rolling Stone Magazine labeled U2 as the biggest band in the world.
