Welcome to the 84th episode of the Wedding Songs Podcast. I am Matt Campbell and today I am going to have one of my favorite, and I know everyone else’s favorite, topics. Best party songs. These may not be the best songs to get everyone out on the dance floor (although I am going to include those also), but these could also be background songs as well. And, also songs that are trending right now. If you prefer to read the list or listen to the list, you can do so on our website MyWeddingSongs.com. While you are there make sure to sign up for our monthly newsletter. In it, we tell you about all the new songs released in the prior month and also great trending songs and forgotten hits you can play on your wedding day. This episode is going to be a little bit different, I am not going to include song lyrics because I am just going to go thru the 200 songs just to categorize those by genre and a couple of events as well (I will get to that in just a second).
So, speaking of starting off, I am going to start off with 37 songs I think could really get everyone out on the dance floor. They are party songs and ones that you want to make sure you at least have in your music library. The first one is “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” by Whitney Houston, “Yeah” by Usher, “Dancing Queen” by ABBA, the great Disco song. “Fergalicious” by Fergie, “Get Low” by Lil Jon, and the East Side Boyz featuring Ying Yang Twins, and “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan. This one is exploding recently because it is in a car commercial. “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars, “We Found Love” by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris. This is a great song to really get the party started and get everybody excited. Next is “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas and “September” by Earth Wind and Fire. One of the great dance songs of all time.

“Dynamite” by Taio Cruz and the newer song, “About Damn Time” by Lizzo. “Shut Up And Dance” by WALK THE MOON. There are a few Michael Jackson songs we can have on the list, but it seems like “Billie Jean” is on everybody’s playlist. “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins with the right crowd, and “C’Mon ‘N Ride It (The Train)” by Quad City DJ’s, which came out in the ’90s and will get everybody doing the train around the dance floor. Next is “The Humpty Dance” by Digital Underground who recently lost their lead singer. “Get Down On It” by Kool and The Gang and “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-A-Lot. “Hey Ya!” by Outkast, and “Friends In Low Places” by Garth Brooks is the first Country song on the list, which is a sing-along song you can have on your list. “Timber” by Pitbull featuring Kesha, “No Hands” by Waka Flocka Flame and Roscoe Dash featuring Wale, “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars, and of course the “Cha-Cha Slide” by Mr. C if you want to have a group dance song, along with the next son “Cupid Shuffle” by Cupid.

“Cotton Eye Joe” by Rednex and “Hot In Herre” by Nelly. One of the great party songs, “Shots” by LMFAO, and the second Country song, “Fishin’ In The Dark” by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Listen to the lyrics to make sure they are Wedding appropriate if you are going to play it at a wedding and your Wedding couple is OK with it. “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers, “Time Of Our Lives” by Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo. Another group dance song , “Wobble” by V.I.C., “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper, and “Shout” by The Isley Brothers or by Otis Day. It is up to you which version you prefer. It is just a great group dance song you can have. “All The Small Things” by Blink-182. And finally, “Boogie Shoes” by KC And The Sunshine Band. So that is just to get things started off.

Next up let us talk about 10 songs for slow dance songs starting off with “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton, “Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Combs, “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley, and the multitude of covers of this song. “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, “My Girl” by The Temptations. “All of Me” by John Legend, and “Wonderful Tonight” for Classic Rock fans, by Eric Clapton. “You Proof” by Morgan Wallen, “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez, and “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King.
