Hi everybody. I am Matt Campbell and welcome to the 68th episode of the Wedding Songs Podcast. Today, I’m going to be talking about songs to play while you’re walking down the aisle. Now, this is typically called processional songs. So as the bride walks down the aisle to the altar, as the groomsmen walk down the aisle, as the bridesmaids walk down the aisle, they could even walk down together. How ever you want to have your ceremony wedding party walk down the aisle is up to you, but I’m gonna give you 100 songs to play. I’m gonna break these down by genre, and then I’m gonna be starting off with the most current down to the oldest. Now, if you prefer to read the list, or listen to the list, you can do so on our website, MyWeddingSongs.com. There is a link right from the homepage to the processional songs. And if you wanna get a newsletter of all of the new wedding songs being released from the prior month, make sure you subscribe to our newsletter. We call it the music letter, and there’s a link on every page, right at the top in the main menu to subscribe.

So let’s go ahead and get started with the first song on the list. It is, “You Are The Reason” by The Piano Guys & Dallas String Quartet released in 2021. This is a cover of Callum Scotts’ song “You Are The Reason” Just for Disney fans, released in 2019, it’s called “Disney Medley” by 40 Fingers. It is a great medley of instrumental versions of a bunch of very popular Disney songs. Just for cello and piano fans, released in 2019, “Canon in D” by Brooklyn Duo. Hauser released “River Flows In You” in 2019.

In 2018, for violin fans, Daniel Jang released “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. Yes, it is a cover of Elvis Presley’s song, and a very popular song to play for the professional. In 2017 the Piano Guys released “A Thousand Years”. This is a cover of a Christina Perry song. Along the same lines, “All I Want Is You” by Vitamin String Quartet. This is for the Rock fans because this is a cover of the U2 song. In 1998 the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards released “Highland Cathedral”. If you want more of a church sound to your professional, this is one that I would recommend. Next up, released in 1993, is the “Jurassic Park Theme” by John Williams. There have been some great covers to this, but if you’re having a live harpist at the ceremony, then I would highly recommend this song. In 1987 “Storybook Love” by Mark Knopfler. You may remember him from the group Dire Straits. With lyrics…He said, don’t, you know, I love you. Oh, so much. And lay my heart at the foot of your dress. She said, don’t, you know, that storybook loves Always have a happy ending? In 1986, Ennio released “Gabriel’s Oboe” for more of a classical field for your processional.

And to close out our list I’m going to have many of the great classical artists of all time. Starting off, in 1891, Tchaikovsky’s song “Coronation March”. In 1824 “Ode To Joy” by Beethoven, in 1741 “Air” by George F Handel, in 1716 Bach released “Jesu, Joy Of Man’s Desiring”, which is a very popular song. And if you like the trumpet sound for your processional, then Purcell, originally released by Clark, had his version of “Trumpet Voluntary”. Clark released, in the 1700s, “The Prince Of Denmark’s March”. Finally, “Air On The G String” by Bach was released in the early 1700s. So that’s the Classical songs that I would recommend for the processional song, and also that have been very popular for couples to choose as the wedding party walks down the aisle.

Next up, I have Country processional songs. Starting off in 2022, “Growing Old With You” by Restless Road with lyrics…we’ll build this home together, weather, any storm. And as the years, keep rolling on. You’ll be right where I’ll belong. “Made” by Spencer Crandle was released in 2021 with lyrics…work at it. Even when we get tired, make ups and downs doing all that it takes, cuz soulmates aren’t found they’re made. One of my favorite Country processional songs is “Walk In A Room (Reimagined)” by a Muscadine Bloodline, released in 2021 with the lyrics…My heart starts to beat out of my chest. Harder and harder the closer you get. Baby, I fall every time you walk in a room. I think this would be a great sign to play for when the brides walk down the aisle.

Also released in 2021 is Avery Anna’s song “I Love You More” with lyrics…No it won’t be perfect, but on the worst of our days, that’s what I mean when I say I love you more Jonny Houlihan released “So In Love With You” in 2020, with lyrics…I wanna breathe life into everything that we do. Cuz baby, I’m so in love with you. I want to grow old with you. Matt Stdll’s very popular Wedding song “Prayed For You” was released in 2020. An acapella version of the song “I Prayed For You” by 4th + Main, released in 2019. Next up is a piano remix of “10,000 Hours” by Dan & Shay and Justin Bieber released in 2019 with those popular lyrics…If it’s 10,000 hours of the rest or my life, I’m gonna love you.

In 2019 is a personal favorite of mine, by Lexanna it is “Parachute”, but it’s the acoustic version. Lyrics…thought I was safe to fly up that high when I fell for you. And it goes on to say that she needed a parachute. In 2019 is the number one Country song, “Made For You” by Jake Owen with the lyrics…Oh, like a ship without a sea or a song without a melody. I don’t know where I’d be or what I’d do. Cuz I was made for you. Also released in 2019 is Dave Fenley’s song “Stuck On You”. This was first released by the American Idol judge Lionel Richie, with the lyrics…I’m stuck on you. I’ve got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can’t lose. Guess I’m on my way. In 2018, “Speechless” by Dan and Shay, which everybody I’m sure is familiar with. And in 2017, “In Case You Didn’t Know” by Brett Young. Also in 2017, “Yours, (The Wedding Edition)” by Russell Dickerson has been a very popular wedding song. Lyrics include…I came to life when I first kissed you. The best me has his arms around you. You made me better than I was before. Thank God I’m yours.

In 2016, is theme appropriate, “From The Ground Up” by Dan & Shay with the lyrics…and will build this love from the ground up for better or for worse. And I will be all you need beside you I’ll stand through the good and the bad. In 2004 is “Blessed The Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. Everybody knows the lyrics…This much I know is true that God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you. In 1999, Kenny Chesney released “You Had Me From Hello”, which became popular in the movie Jerry McGuire. From one of the greatest country women of all times, Shania Twain; but this song also features Brian White, “From This Moment On”, in 1997. And that closes out the country songs.

Next up are the R & B songs. Released in 2022 is one of my favorite new songs, “Angel”. It’s the acoustic version by Ric Hassani with lyrics…I might lose sleep tonight cuz finally my dream has come true. I was created for you. You are my angel. Next up is another new song by Allen Stone released in 2021 called “Is This Love”. It’s kind of a remake of Bob Marley’s song, with his take including the lyrics…So I throw my cards on your table. See, I wanna love you. I wanna love and treat you, love and treat you right. Next up, in 2018 Tamia released “Today I Do” with lyrics…I don’t have to think before I answer, cuz your love erased all the questions for me. So here I stand baby, this isn’t pretend. Oh, today I do.

In 2017, Kiana Ledé released “I Choose You”. It’s the acoustic version with…I’m good on my own, but with you, I’m something else. You’re telling me to choose up, but I already chose you. In 2016 MAJOR released “Why I Love You”, and in 2013 the wildly popular John Legend with “All Of Me”. Jaheim released “Forever” in 2001 with the lyrics…forever the love I have for you will last forever. Loving you always. Forever my love for you won’t change. Girl, loving you is the best thing I can do. That closes out the R & B songs.

This queen need a king king king. For life for life for life. This is actually a personal favorite of an original of his, with the lyrics…If something happened, don’t know what I do. I can’t imagine. I can’t imagine, my life without you. In 2021, Caleb and Kelsey released a cover “Unconditionally”. That was by Katy Perry, with the lyrics…There is no fear now. Let go and just be free. I will love you unconditionally. “Loving You” by Mahogany Lox released in 2021. This is not a very popular song for weddings, but you could really incorporate it and call it your own. With the lyrics…You’re my sunshine and my Moonlight light up my world. You make it so bright and every day that I’m around you, it makes me happy that I found you.
